Martial arts is the training you didn’t know you needed.
Experience has shown that martial arts training provides a great cardio workout. No doubt about it! It also helps shed unwanted pounds and increases stamina. According to the National Academy of Sports Medicine, martial arts type fitness provides a great resistance workout too. I know what you may be thinking: why is THAT important? Resistance-type training like martial arts helps build strong bones. And who doesn’t want all of that?
Lastly, martial arts training conditions most major and minor muscle groups synergistically. This means the more you train in the martial arts the more effectively your body’s musculoskeletal system will work together providing you with increased strength, lasting endurance, and improved balance.
I’m not going to say that your next best workout is definitely martial arts training because that might be a bit too presumptuous. What I will say is that a person who decides to leverage all the functional benefits of martial arts will begin to improve their overall health because it really is the training you didn’t know you needed… until now.
